 PELLING SKY WALK

 



India’s first glass skywalk is located right in the northeastern state of Sikkim. It is located in Sikkim’s Pelling and situated right opposite to the 137-feet statue of and it is in upper pelling .
And it is established in 2018.

The project was funded and constructed under the supervision of the Sikkim's Department of Culture and the Department of Housing Buildings and Housing. 

 It has been built so as to give a wonderful view of 

the Chenrezig statue and the stairs that lead up to
it, with golden prayer wheels on each side.






This glass bridge was built up to the idea of being the first glass bridge in the country, the bridge is almost at the height of 100 feet floored with transparent thick glass, where visitors will have of thrill after looking down into a foot and feeling of walking in a sky.

It is built considering a safety measure where the bridge is outlined with thick 4fit transparent glass which makes zero chances of casualties 


 The statue at Choeling area in Pelling was constructed at a cost of Rs 46.65 crore.

You will reach the entrance of the statue and you can walk inside  and you will see a statue of a goddess offering water into it, here one needs to keep in note that photography and videography are not allowed inside the statue instead one can bow down and seek blessing.




Consider walking the upper parts of the statue you will see many beautiful paintings relating to folk tales of Buddhist gods and goddesses.

Finally, you will reach the topmost part of the statue from where one can enjoy watching an entire area in 360 ° view.


This beast of a walk allows visitors to look down several thousand feet in the air. You get to behold everything down to the bottom of the mountain. This walkway is not for the fainthearted, or anyone who has vertigo.




the glass skywalk provides a beautiful view of the Buddhist pilgrimage site. The whole complex is located at a height of 7,200 feet above sea level.


The glass skywalk is not for the weak-hearted as it allows visitors to look thousands of feet below.


It is really amazing place for tourists and also you can see the view of kanchanjang.

Things to remember:


  1. The ticket fee is Rs 100 INR for each
  2. Remove shoes before entering the main premises.
  3. Photography and Videography are not allowed inside a statue.
  4. No smoking, chewing and spitting.
